Chr. bis einige Jahre nach dem Ende des <strong>Zweiten Weltkriegs<\/strong> von Menschen ausgegraben und genutzt wurden und die zumindest teilweise noch heute besichtigt werden k\u00f6nnen. Unterirdische St\u00e4tten unterscheiden sich von unterirdischen arch\u00e4ologischen Funden durch ihren unterirdischen Ursprung seit ihrer Entstehung. Das Geb\u00e4ude, in dem sich derzeit das Museum befindet, ist der Palazzo degli Studi, der 1585 als \u201eKavalleriekaserne\u201c erbaut wurde. Der Palast stellt eine gewisse architektonische Bedeutung dar und ist tats\u00e4chlich einer der imposantesten <strong>monumentalen Pal\u00e4ste in Neapel<\/strong>.
